Frequently Asked Questions
When you first decided to buy some oils, the first decision you have to make right away is, do I want to be a Retail Customer or a Wholesale Member? Bottom line? If you think you’ll buy more than one oil a year, become a Wholesale Member so you can get the 24% wholesale discount.
The below Q & A might shed some light on other questions you have about becoming a Young Living Member.
Do I need to make a monthly purchase to be a member?
No. During the signup process, they will ask you if you’d like to set up a monthly order (called Essential Rewards). Although Essential Rewards has a lot of benefits for people who want to promote their health consistently, this is not required.
Am I required to purchase monthly, sign any contracts or pay any annual fees?
No. You do not have to order monthly in order to benefit from being a Wholesale Member. Once you order your premium starter kit, you are free to just order more oils as the need arises… or not. That is the best part. You are never required to order anything, ever. However, as a wholesale member you will always pay 24% less than retail on everything you do order. There are no contracts, no annual fees, no obligation whatsoever. We let the products speak for themselves.
How much does it cost to join Young Living as a wholesale member?
Just like being a wholesale customer, you are required to purchase a starter kit, which range in price from $45 to $260 (depending on the starter kit you choose). You only have to purchase a starter kit once. If you wish to earn a commission check, it is easiest to be enrolled in the “Essential Rewards” program. To be eligible for payment, your monthly Essential Rewards order should be at or over $100/month (100 PV)—which is surprisingly easy to do.
Does being a wholesale member mean that I have to sell to my friends and family, host crazy parties or keep a huge supply of products on hand?
Nope! Although many people we know make income by sharing about Young Living health options with their friends and family, this is not required. Most Young Living members simply purchase the products for their own use and for use in their private practice . Being a wholesale member simply means that you are getting your products at wholesale prices. 24% less that the full retail price.
What’s the difference between joining Young Living as a retail member or a wholesale member?
Retail Members can buy all of the Young Living products, but must pay retail cost, which is 24% more than wholesale. They also are not eligible for the Essential Rewards program. Wholesale members can buy all of the Young Living products at wholesale cost, which saves them 24% on everything. They’re also able to enroll in the Essential Rewards program (more on this below), which allows their orders to qualify for monthly promotions, cheaper shipping, and earning points on your orders to redeem later.

What do I need to do to get started?
To begin as a Wholesale Member, you simply click here and purchasing the Premium Starter Kit. It is hands down the most cost-effective way to get the most oils and diffuser. If you just want a couple of oil to start with, you can get started as a wholesale member with just the basic starter kit.
What is the Essential Rewards Program?
The Young Living Essential Rewards Program is for Wholesale Members who agree to have their products automatically shipped. It is ideal for those who will buy more than 2 oils a month and/or want to sell oils to make commission and/or build your own business. The benefits of the program are flat rate discounted shipping, priority for products that are low in stock, and the ability to earn points for FREE oils!
Requirements are to purchase a minimum 50 PV* of product of your choosing a month. You can get the same thing shipped every month, or choose something new each time. You can change the date your order ships. There is NO CONTRACT, you can cancel at any time without penalty or fees.
